Invites :)

First off, let's preface this by saying this has probably been the worst month EVER!  I (Allison) was involved in a pretty intense car accident on Oct 29th on the way to an in-service meeting resulting in the center divider beating the 2001 corolla four times.  My neck is being horribly mean, I looked like I was in a bar fight, and the insurance/workman's compensation people are being complete jerkos.  To top it all off, today a car backed into my BRAND new 2010 corolla that doesn't even have the plates.  UGH.  Not a good month.

So, in order to help myself cope with the anxiety and horrible people surrounding me in the insurance business and drivers, I do wedding stuff.  It makes me happy.  EXTREMELY happy.  As it should.  So, the day after the accident as I sat at home in excruciating pain, I was on Zazzle.com, where we got our Save the Dates, and looked for "the perfect invite".  Thank god, I found it!  It was absolutely perfect and it tied in the Save the Dates.  I LOVE it but not as much as I love Tylason.

Anyway, after waiting to see if we could get better deals, we got an email saying we could get 50% off and free shipping.  Of course, I jumped on it.  So we ordered 100 invites, RSVPS, pink return envelopes and 10 additional save the dates because we didn't order enough the first time around.  I opened the first box with Casey because I wanted something to make me happy as I had a bad day with the insurance agencies only to notice they weren't our names.  UGH.  I told myself to relax and opened the second box.  There were our invites!!!!!!!! and the Save the Dates :)  Made my day.  They're so beautiful and wonderful and almost perfect.  I had thought there was an actual ribbon on the invite and when I saw there wasn't, I got a little sad but it works.  I still love them and Tyler loved them when I brought them home.

As I sit here writing this while Tyler watches some movie with naked men (Apocalypse?)  and I am icing my neck after a WONDERFUL massage from Regina Seaman, I am thankful for my soon to be hubby.  He has been through me with this entire fiasco and has always been there to make me feel better. To be honest, some of the days I got up because of him.  He's one of the reasons to wake up in the morning and I can't thank him enough for that.  Granted, my students also get me up in the morning but on the weekends, he's there...pushing me to keep strong and keep fighting.  He keeps me strong.  He is Tyler.  He is everything to me and I am so glad that God allowed us to spend some more time together and share our lives some more.

John Tyler Schrey - I love you.  I thank you for everything you are.

Save the Dates

We found our save the dates!   They're absolutely perfect and completely us.  I'll try to remember to post a pic of them.

The only problem is we didn't order enough and we ran out.

Oops.

Well, kind of oops.  The guest list keeps expanding and stressing me out.  Not to be mean, but I hope some of these people don't come.  I shouldn't say that but it's freaking expensive and I don't like some of them or haven't even met them!

Logistics, logistics.  I think we should have more say of who we invite because WE ARE paying for it!  Just a thought.

Cake Tasting Part Two

So, we went cake tasting at Portos back in July and got a price quote with delivery on how much a three tier cake and a 1/4 sheet would be.  They told us shipping would be like 30 dollars which was AWESOME since they were shipping it from Glendale to Newport.  Silly me (Allison) forgot to make sure the lady wrote everything down, including the shipping cost.  We scheduled our final cake tasting, which was a ROYAL PAIN to set up.  I had called and the lady just wasn't understanding that this was our second tasting and we had very specific types that we wanted to taste.  I was sure she screwed it up.

We got there, barely on time because little Tyler was late from work...surprise, surprise.  Then he missed the exit.  Needless to say, I was already in a bad mood.  They took us to the room to taste the cakes and I showed the new lady the quote we were given.  She told us it would cost 100 more to deliver the cake.  I L.O.S.T. it.  I told her the other lady told us it would be 30 and I wanted to talk to that lady.  The lady came out and was backstepping saying she never said that (BULL).  So I freaked out and lost it.  I was that bride that cried at the cake tasting.  Yep, that's me.  Full on tears streaming down my face out of frustration because it would cost 100 more than we were anticipating plus our guest list just kept growing.  (that's another topic all together).  Anyway, lucky me, the owner of Portos walked by while I was having my meltdown and said that no bride should cry over delivery and she would cover the cost.  My hero!

After that was settled, they brought out more cakes for us to taste.  Not to my surprise, they were NOT the ones we listed as wanting to taste.  So I tried to remain calm through the hell of a cake tasting we were experiencing and I told her that these were not the ones we requested to taste and that we had already tried these.  UGH.  She tried to fix it but it took FOREVER.  After deciding on a white cake for all three tiers with strawberry cream filling for all of them and a white sheet cake with strawberry fruit filling, the lady (who was also the manager) decided it'd be best to place the order now even though it was 10 months ahead of time just to make sure it wasn't going to be screwed up again.

So the point of this...cake tasting/ordering was HELL but we got through it and saved the Schrey's $100 on the cake!  ugh.

Bridesmaid's Dresses :)

Today was my (Allison's) first actual Saturday in over two weeks.  The past two weekends were spent at the hospital with my dad.  He's fine, or will be fine, now :)  Thank God.

Anyway, today started with WW, down another 2.6!  Only 12.something to go to GOAL!  Yay!  I can really tell because I put on my dress today to show the moms and the girlies and it was loose :)  Yay!  Back to the story, today continued with studying, or attempting to study for the CSET Math test in two weeks while fighting off Dante because his favorite spot was to sit on my scratch paper.  Then I got ready and went over to the Schrey's house.  My mom, Debbie, Casey, Lizzie, Amber and I drove down to Alfred Angelo to try on some bridesmaid dresses.  I went in with five of my favorites, one being my ultimate favorite.  The girls all tried on the dresses and were honest with me if they didn't like it after I said something about not liking the dress :)  So after trying on all five, I narrowed it down to two that I liked: my ultimate favorite before going and another one that was just one color.  I chose the other one!  The girls all look AMAZING in it.  They'll look so beautiful in the color I chose - it's called cobalt but it's really royal blue :).  I love it!

After Alfred Angelo, and the saleslady trying to get the girls to buy the dresses by saying that they would take FIVE months - B.S.!  We left with her card and the style number for the dress for the girls to go back to get it later.  We went to Sharky's for lunch and it was super yummy!  Then we meandered our way over to Davids Bridal.  After waiting for like 20 minutes for the stupid lady to come up to help us, the girls tried on two dresses that were ugly in comparision to the Alfred Angelo one and then we left.  We came back to my house to show them my dress then we went back to the Schrey's.

It was such a great day.   It felt so nice to have people actually really excited for our wedding.  I'm starting to get super excited for the wedding now that I can actually do wedding stuff :)  Everyone is going to look so WONDERFUL!  It's going to be so great.

I love Tyler so much and I can't wait until we will be married!  He's the sweetest most loving person a girl could ask for.  I'm so blessed that he stuck around through all the crap I put him through before we were together.  He is my everything <3

I <3 you Tylason!

Engagement Party and Reflection

It is almost one year to the day before me a nd Allison are to be married. We are planning both the wedding for next year and our engagemnet party for this year, both on the 17th of July. I have to admitt that I still get this weird feelings sometimes when I look at Allison. I feel like I am dreaming, that I it is impossible that I am with someone that exceedes my expectations more than I could ever imagine. She puts up with so much, yet still gives her all into being with me. I come to a lost of words a lot of the time. I wish I could give her everything that she wanted in life right now, but I know that we will get what we need and love each other that much more for staying with each other through the hard times. That is the reason I am marring ther after all! She asks me from time to time why I am, I always give her a different answer, but I boils down to that one point. We will always love each other and be there to hold the other up when life gets hard. I can't wait for the world to except us as man and wife, but to me we already are.

HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

So, this is not really in either of our personalities - to write an online blog - but we wanted to see where it would take us and how often we would do it.

Here we are after spending the entire Memorial Day together which is something that wouldn't have ever happened 3 or 4 years ago.  Luckily, we are together now and Allison (I) couldn't be happier!  Tyler is such a wonderful person; I'm silly for not realizing it sooner!

Anyway, we just thought we'd get this started.  We're trying to figure out the kinks...like making our huge picture smaller so please bear with us.
